I ❤︎ BAILE FUNK

WEDNESDAY

13 AUGUST

Decades after being born in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, the beats of Baile Funk are taking over the hottest productions… Whether you’re in Miami, Dubai or Portugal.

In recent years, funk has winked and made a mainstream comeback, becoming one of the most important cultural movements in pop culture today.

It has gone from music to a way of life, an aesthetic faithfully reproduced in Portugal by the I Love Baile Funk concept. Scamps and preppy girls come together in an atmosphere of joy without barriers and take over the place. Just like funk is doing with the rest of the world.

DA WEASEL

Thursday

14 AUGUST

Formed in Almada in 1993, Da Weasel emerged from the creation and irreverence of brothers João Nobre (Braindead) and Carlos Nobre.

The music they create is worked on, meditated on and reflected upon around words phonetically combined with the meaning of a common understanding. They enjoy with natural satisfaction the fame they deserve, without giving in to the prerogatives or awards they have won, in search of the perfect sound.

They believe that music is transversal, a source of wisdom and diverse influences, and is all the richer the more mixed it is, because art, like people, benefits from intersections.

They are a reference in Portuguese music and maintain a special connection to the city where it all began.

PLUTONIO

FRIDAY

15 AUGUST

Plutonio, an artist from Bairro da Cruz Vermelha, in Cascais, has, throughout his career, sought to balance three spectrums from Hip-Hop/Trap to RnB and even AfroTrap, more recently, having released his first original album in 2013.

“Preto & Vermelho” is a double album that reflects two sides of the artist’s personality. 7 tracks make up each half, full of reflection and emotion, simultaneously opposite and complementary. In “Preto”, introspection and awareness stand out, with a musical base of RnB and Trap Soul. In “Vermelho” the emotional and musical charge is greater, with the presence of Hiphop and Trap being more noticeable.
